Hard pressed
to taste the green
delirium of spring
even in the coriander
garnish –
Our loose
leafed lives settling,
upswirling, sinking: dregs
of all the tepid tea we care
to drink.
K. Alma Peterson is a graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Hayden's Ferry Review, The New Orphic Review, Skid Row Penthouse, Perihelion Review, qarrtsiluni and others. In 1999, her poem "Between Us" was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She lives in Rosemount, MN.
